Marina Beach (மெரினா கடற்கரை) is one of the beautiful beaches in the city of Chennai (Madras), India, along the Bay of Bengal and part of the Indian Ocean. The beach runs from near Fort St. George in the north to a distance of 13 km towards the south. The Marina is primarily sandy unlike the rocky formations that make up the Juhu Beach in Mumbai. The beach includes lots of sandy space where you can play, gather and enjoy the moment. The Marina used to be famed for its pristine beauty, jolly ambiance and rich ecosystems. The sea is moderately rough and waves are strong.Nowadays lifegurards have been put in act since bathing is illegal there.
